Feeding 5,000 with Warm Hearts & Happy Bellies

I grew up cooking in the kitchen with my grandmothers, always from scratch with real ingredients. I remember all the wonderful smells, and the smiles with full bellies. As I grew up, I honed my passion for cooking and have owned several restaurants. After the birth of my third child, restaurant hours weren't compatible with family life, but I still continued cooking for family, friends that are ill, and most recently fed the varsity football team before every away game. It was during those dinners that some teens shared their struggles. There were boys with parents unable to work due to illness, single moms who worked two jobs, kids raised by grandmas and even one player who was unhoused. I fed them all and there was always enough, no matter how many showed up to eat. For at least one night, no boy was hungry. Those nights reminded me of how Jesus fed 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and two fishes (Matthew 14:16-21) and it sparked a fire in my heart.

I’ve been a successful entrepreneur for the last 20 years, but Texas Country Cooking is the only business that has grown from a culmination of my life experiences and passions. I want to provide delicious food and drinks for you, using real ingredients that spread joy to you and others. My goal this year is to donate 5,000 meals to help fight food insecurity in our community. Every $100 in purchases at Texas Country Cooking will provide 15 meals through the North Texas Food Bank. I hope that every purchase you make leaves you with a warm heart, happy belly, and the joy of knowing you have helped others in your community not go hungry.
